HomeoPet LLC is a US owned family business, with its origins rooted deep in the wilds of the South West of Ireland.
Well, maybe not the wilds, but our chief formulator – Tom Farrington MRCVS., MVB., VetMFHom – has been practicing veterinary medicine in Ireland for over 35 years. It is through his veterinary practice – now based in West Cork – that his passion for homeopathy and natural pet care developed into a full time, mixed, holistic practice. From here, Tom successfully treats small animals, horses, and all farm animals at his practice, developing further the seeds of HomeoPet that were sewn originally in his former practice based in Dublin.
Tom recognized the increasing demand for alternative, natural treatments for common conditions that, while not life-threatening, cause suffering in animals. Previous ways of treating such conditions were with expensive and often harmful drugs that had the potential for significant unwanted side effects.
Tom knew there was a better approach.
In 1994, Daniel, based in the US, founded Homeopet LLC with a desire to help pets and pet parents around the world achieve a natural path to good health.
HomeoPet medicines are targeted to provide support to the animals’ own natural healing system and bring relief without and known side effects. Since our foundation, HomeoPet has grown from strength to strength, and our medicines have and continue to help ease the symptoms and suffering of millions of pets across the globe.

HomeoPet has completed university-based double-blind placebo-controlled studies in the USA, Ireland, UK, and Australia. These studies have shown effects better than 0.05, which is the internationally recognized standard for trials.

HomeoPet Company History
HomeoPet was founded by Daniel H. Farrington with the intention of bringing the natural medicines formulated by his brother Thomas Farrington, MVB MRCVS VetMFHom, to the animal population. Thomas is a conventional practicing vet who has used alternative and homeopathic medicines for almost 30 years as part of his everyday practice. Commercial development of these medicines commenced in 1990.
The 1938 Federal Food and Drug Act approved the use of Homeopathics for man and animal. Homeopathic drugs approved by this act, and included in the HPUS, are regulated by the FDA as unapproved drugs for marketing in the US.
HomeoPet registered its first labels with FDA-CVM in 1995. During subsequent submissions, HomeoPet delivered by fax data to FDA-CVM on over 10,000 animals, including a clinical study on over 100 animals, US peer reviewed published papers, and international studies, including a UK government managed double blind. Based on submissions, in 1999 HomeoPet amended all USA labeling claims to comply with FDA-CVM guidance.
HomeoPet works with multiple universities, both in the USA and internationally, funding research programs guided by boarded, double boarded, and one triple boarded specialist. HomeoPet, through the process of publishing peer reviewed research papers, developed a validated data collection program based on third party verified owner response. Based on submissions to the APVMA, HomeoPet amended all labeling claims to comply with regulatory guidance.
HomeoPet has committed and continues to collect data on our products employing our data collections. We protect our research data under multiple patient privacy acts, as required under the veterinary code.
All HomeoPet products NDC’S are registered annually with the National Drug Code list that is monitored by the FDA. The FDA will periodically hold unannounced and unscheduled inspections of our facilities for compliance with GMP’s as required under the Code of Federal regulations. This list of inspections is maintained on the FDA website with any actions indicated. Our website is regularly monitored by the FDA for unauthorized claims and drugs that are marketed in the US by companies that are a registered with FDA.
HomeoPet has also achieved drug registrations with marketing approvals from the IMB in Ireland, the VMD in the United Kingdom, Health Canada in Canada, and the APVMA in Australia.
To establish clinical efficacy, Daniel worked tirelessly with his brother Thomas Farrington who is an honors degreed veterinarian with an advanced degree in Veterinary Homeopathy. This degree is recognized by the Royal College of Veterinarian Surgeons.
Utilizing advances science and Daniel’s unique skills in recognizing patterns to analyze results from veterinary clinics and university research programs on three continents, HomeoPet developed a new technology, AHPT, or Advance Homeopathic Pharmaceutical Technology. AHPT has allowed HomeoPet to develop a line of natural solutions to addresses the most common conditions seen today as a result of social, economic, and environmental changes in the world we live in.
Homeopathy is a natural medicine therapy that has been used for hundreds of years. Utilizing advances in science research beginning in the 1970s, highly skilled scientists working with a research laboratory identified the purest raw materials available. The high standards of a dedicated, FDA inspected manufacturing facility ensures that the finished products are manufactured to standards meeting or exceeding GMP’s – Good Manufacturing Practice standards.
